Invention Literacy: Code Invent!
$250.00
August 3-6 | 2 credits
In this four-day camp, registered teachers are invited to bring one or two of their elementary-school-age children (1st -6th grades) to participate in this hands-on workshop about computer science in the real world. Teacher/child teams will learn the basics of computer science, receive a Makey Makey device and a Raspberry Pi computer to take home, and be challenged to design an invention-based project. Participants may choose to bring their own laptop computer with WiFi capability and a USB port, or borrow a chromebook from the MOI to share with another participant. **Please note that this course is an extended version of the Code Invent workshop offered during the 2019 school year. This version includes the use of Raspberry Pi and invites participants to bring one or two of their children to participate alongside them.
*To maintain COVID 19 safety protocols, you’ll be asked to drive your own vehicle. Transportation will not be provided by the Museum of Idaho, but clear directions will be provided to you.
