July 22-24 | 2 credits
Idaho’s incredible landscape is the product of extreme heat and pressure. Join us to explore Idaho’s geology! In this two credit course, we’ll get out in the field to get first hand experiences at Craters of the Moon, Spencer Opal Mines, the St. Anthony Sand Dunes, Jackknife Cave, Civil Defense Cave, Mud Lake, and more. We’ll do hands-on experiments that can be translated to any learning context, and you’ll go home with lots of tools and ideas to use in your own classroom. Participants must be able to hike one to two miles each day over rough terrain.
*To maintain COVID 19 safety protocols, you’ll be asked to drive your own vehicle. Transportation will not be provided by the Museum of Idaho, but clear directions will be provided to you.
