Through the lens of a legendary local photographer

Through the lens of a legendary local photographer

Photography from many decades past shouldn’t be good. It was labor intensive, easy to mess up, and its most defining quality is the absence of something usually important: color. However, in the images of East Idaho photographer Quincy Jensen (1922-93), the mid-20th century remains as brilliant now as it was in person.

Hundreds of Jensen’s prints are archived at the museum, an institution he paved the way for as a founder of the Bonneville County Historical Society. To access the MOI photo archive, call 208-522-1400 or e-mail
