Q: Explain what you do at the museum in 20 words or less.

Gregg: My role is to support museum rentals for groups looking to hold an event in a fun dynamic environment.

Q: What’s a museum-related accomplishment that you’re particularly proud of?

Gregg: I’m proud of volunteering at the museum for five years. Now that I am an employee, I still wear my volunteer badge to remind myself what it is to be a volunteer and do something because you enjoy the environment, the people, and being of service.

Q: What do you do for fun?

Gregg: I enjoy exploring urban environments and spaces and discovering new food & beverages.

Q: What would you do for a career if you weren’t doing this (and if money were no object)?

Gregg: I would own and operate a brewpub.

Q: What’s the weirdest / most interesting past job you’ve had?

Gregg: I delivered special movie tickets to theatres showing a limited-run documentary, watched the documentary each night, and then returned with the unsold tickets.

Q: Name a setback in your life that has ended up being a good thing.

Gregg: I had a hard time finding work in the Salt Lake Valley after graduating college, so a friend invited me to move out to Silicon Valley and live with him rent-free until I found work. I had a job three weeks later and the rest is history.

Q: What’s something – large or small, useful or not – that you’re really good at?

Gregg: I like to organize things.  If you have ever watched the television sitcom The Big Bang Theory and can picture the character Sheldon getting a thrill when he got to organize things, you’ll know what I mean.

Q: What were you like in high school?

Gregg: I wasn’t a part of any one group or clique.  I had friends in all the groups.

Q: What’s your favorite book, movie, and TV show?

  • Book: All I Really Need to Know I Learned from Watching Star Trek
  • Movie: Caddyshack
  • TV show: M*A*S*H

Q: Tell us something about you that might surprise us.

Gregg: I have studied consciousness and have learned we can project our consciousness anywhere in space and time and retrieve information. This skill is popularly known as Remote Viewing.
