About Dr. Bob Brier

Affectionately known as “Mr. Mummy,” Dr. Bob Brier is one of the world’s leading authorities on mummies and ancient Egypt. A pioneer in experimental Egyptology, he is best known for replicating the mummification techniques of the ancient Egyptians to create MUMAB (Mummy of University of Maryland At Baltimore)—the first modern mummy made using 2,000-year-old methods.

Dr. Brier serves as Senior Research Fellow at Long Island University (LIU Post) in New York and has examined some of history’s most iconic mummies, including King Tutankhamun, Ramses the Great, Vladimir Lenin, Eva Perón, the Marquise of Dai, and members of the Medici family.

A frequent guest on National Geographic, Discovery Channel, and the History Channel, Brier has brought the science and stories of ancient Egypt to millions. He has authored ten books and traveled the globe in pursuit of the past, making his visit to Idaho Falls a rare and remarkable opportunity to engage with a true legend in the field.
