Why is MOI transitioning to digital membership cards?
We have implemented digital membership cards to save on printing and postage costs, to accommodate members who prefer not to carry cards, and to be more in line with our environmentally friendly organization.
What are the perks of having a digital membership card?
Having a digital membership card is a convenient, eco-friendly way to access information about your membership, use your discount in the museum store, and renew your membership on your phone.
Do I need a digital membership card to enter MOI?
No kind of membership cards are required to enter the MOI. However, having your current MOI membership card expedites your free entry into the museum, as it allows staff to skip the step of having to check your photo ID and verify your membership.
I cannot or prefer not to use a digital membership card. What should I do?
We will still offer the option of a physical card at $5 additional cost per card. You may request a physical card in person at the front desk or by calling (208) 522-1400, ext. 3013. Card(s) will be mailed to you.
Can I add my digital membership card to my Apple/Android wallet?
Yes! Adding the digital membership card to your smartphone wallet is easy! Follow these simple steps:
- Open the eMembership App.
- Click on the button that reads “Show My Membership Cards”
- Click on the “Add to Wallet” button shown above the membership card.
- When prompted by the pop-up, be sure to click the “Add” button in the upper right-hand corner. Voila! Your digital membership card will appear in your smartphone wallet.

Will I receive notifications?
We encourage you to allow push notifications on the eMembership app. This will allow the museum to send targeted reminders when your membership is about to expire, and so you can be the first to know about major MOI announcements. Don’t worry, this won’t happen often.
The information on my digital membership card is incorrect (i.e. name spelling, membership level, expiration date). What should I do?

How do I receive my constituent ID?
If you are an existing member, your constituent ID was included in the email you received in Summer 2021 about digital membership cards. If you are a new member, it was included in your new member email. If you did not receive one of these or are unable to locate your ID, please contact Camille at (208) 522-1400, ext. 3013 or at email@example.com.
How do I share my digital membership card?
Your membership to the museum is non-transferable. For example, if you purchase an adult membership, you are the only person able to enter the museum with that membership. For Family, Supporter, Dual, and other membership levels, each adult named on the membership can access their card by simply downloading the app and entering their last name and constituent ID when/where prompted.
I have a question about my membership benefits. What should I do?

What are “reciprocal benefits”?
As a nonprofit institution, the Museum of Idaho operates without federal or state support. As such, the Museum of Idaho currently does not participate in a reciprocity program. However, being a member of the MOI is still a great deal! We offer at least 2 world-class traveling exhibits per year, and a brand new Idaho Exhibit titled “Way Out West” – both available to you with no up-charge.
How do I use the 10% off coupon in the museum store?
When you are ready to make a purchase in the museum store, tap the “Coupons” button. Show the screen to the cashier, who will apply your member discount.
I just renewed my membership, but my digital membership card disappeared. What should I do?
When your membership expires, your digital membership card will disappear from the eMembership app. Once you renew, you can re-download the digital membership card app using the same member ID # previously used (it will be included in your renewal member email) and your last name. If you did not receive one of these or are unable to locate your ID, please contact Camille at (208) 522-1400, ext. 3013 or at email@example.com.
When I tried to download my membership card, a pop-up window appeared that said “the data couldn’t be read because it isn’t in the correct format.” What should I do?

Can I add multiple membership cards to the digital membership card app?
Our version of the app only allows you to store one membership card at a time. However, you can add multiple membership cards to your smartphone wallet.
Follow these simple steps:
- Open the app and press “Find My Membership Cards”.
- Input the membership number and last name of the member whose card you would like to download.
- Once the additional digital membership card is added, click “Show My Membership Cards” and click “Add to Wallet”. When prompted by the pop-up, be sure to click the “Add” button in the upper right-hand corner. The additional card will appear in your smartphone wallet.
- Your app will store the last card downloaded. So, after adding the secondary member card to your smartphone wallet, you can re-download the digital membership card of the primary member. Please note that notifications can only be sent through the app. Only the member whose card is downloaded to the app will receive personalized notifications such as, “Your Membership is Expiring Soon”.
You can add multiple membership cards to your smartphone wallet this way. If you have any issues finding the membership number of the other members whose cards you wish to download, please refer to the Digital Membership Card rollout email they received on July 7, 2021.
