Declaration: 250 Years of US

Rediscover the story of America’s birth—peering into the minds of the founders, considering what was at stake, and reflecting on the complexity of our remarkable nation—and how it has shaped us as Americans.

April 2026 – February 2027

About the Exhibition

Declaration: 250 Years of US is a never-before-seen, locally curated exhibition commemorating America’s 250th anniversary. Located in the museum’s upstairs Masonic Gallery, the exhibition invites visitors to step back 250 years to a pivotal era when men and women risked everything to build a future they believed would be fair and just.

Curated by the Museum of Idaho, Declaration: 250 Years of US features a compelling collection of Revolutionary War–era artifacts, reproductions, and objects from local collectors. Through these items and the stories behind them, you will encounter the people, ideas, sacrifices, and defining moments that helped shape the rise of democracy in America, along with surprising connections to Idaho.

Exhibit produced by the Museum of Idaho, with support from local collectors Todd Crump and Mike Weeks.
